Hard to put a 30-year journey into words.

I’m so grateful to have ended my career on home soil last night, in front of the people I love.
Tennis has given me everything. It’s taken me around the world, introduced me to lifelong friends, pushed me to limits I didn’t know I had, given me incredible opportunities, and a platform I could only dream of as a kid growing up in Vernon.

It’s easy to forget to pause and put things into perspective when you’re in the thick of it.
If someone had told me, when I was a 10-year-old kid growing up in Vernon, B.C., that I’d have the career I’ve had I would have thought they were crazy.
I worked extremely hard, but I was also so incredibly lucky to have such amazing people around. I wouldn’t be here without them.

To my coaches on tour, Frederic Fontang, Frank Dancevic, Frederic Niemeyer, Rainer Schuettler and Malek Jaziri.
To all my physios who traveled the world with me and kept me in one piece, Andres Vial, Dave Leyland, Connor Lewis, Richard Johnson, Milos Jelisavcic, Yasser Alakhdar, and Tomas Hrdy.
To my fitness trainer, Cassiano Costa , who made me suffer in the gym since 2013.
Thank you for everything.

To my family, your love and support have been the backbone of my entire career.
Mom and Dad, thank you for the sacrifices you made, for being tough on me when I needed it, and for instilling the values that helped me succeed.
Dad, thank you for coaching me for 15 years, for quitting your job to help me chase this dream, and for driving across continents with me, sleeping in rest areas along the way.. Every bit of it was worth it.

Thank you @TennisCanada not only for your support over the years but also for giving me the opportunity to play in front of my family on last time last night.

Finally, to my fans, to everyone who’s cheered me on over the years, your support has lifted me in ways you’ll never know and you’ve made this whole adventure so much more special.
I can’t thank you enough.
