What happened to human sexuality under capitalism is as tragic as other aspects, eg. healthcare.
That you need to replace sexual fulfillment with numbers, debasement and sensationalism is a tragedy of the modern soul. Lily is just an exponent; look around, it's happening elsewhere too.
As a retired FemDomme, I'd like to add my perspective on the Lily Philips scandal. I retired precisely because of disgust with practices born out of excess and the lack of respect for the human connection underpinning the sexual experience--that this incident represents so well in the public mind.
Julie Bindel, the feminist professional "wrongster", blames the young porn star's sadness and humiliation after bedding 100 men in 14 hours on.. men. Others pile hate on the OnlyFans star herself. But misogynists and feminists alike are both wrong in their diagnosis of this.
What if the Femme Fatale isn't the negative character?
One of the threads in my novel is the inversal of the Femme Fatale archetype.
It's the trope in fiction since the ancient Greeks to 80s thrillers and beyond, that the Femme Fatale is a mean machine, seduction for nefarious reasons, with little psychological insight or motivations of her own.
She's hot and knows it, so she's evil, seems to be the verdict of many writers (male and female) across time.
What if .. she's not? What if the ingenue, the innocent underdog, the naive young girl is actually darker?
Back to Bucharest, savouring a delicious cinnamon cappuccino and a book.
This morning, I am reading the White Knight (Mara Rotundo). In parallel, I am listening to, "Orlando" (Virginia Woolf).
Very different writing styles, very different vibes, although both books are, in essence, about LOVE.
"If done correctly, sex is quite divine."
Mara Rotundo's words in the White Knight remind me of something profound. Sex isn't just a physical act; it's an experience that touches the deepest parts of who we are. True intimacy goes beyond the physical. It’s about love, connection, and a shared commitment that binds two people together. When you engage with someone in this way, you're not just sharing your body—you're sharing your soul.
Sure, sex can be approached like a sport, but the real magic happens when there’s a deep connection, when intimacy flows naturally because your hearts are truly aligned. That's where the divine truly begins.
So let's start a conversation. What does intimacy mean to you? How do you ensure your connections are deep, authentic, and rooted in love? Share your thoughts, and let's explore what it really means to be intimate on every level.
“Beauty is the only thing that time cannot harm. Philosophies fall away like sand, creeds follow one another, but what is beautiful is a joy for all seasons, a possession for all eternity.”
Oscar Wilde
Think too many people today use kink as a pretext to wallow in the gutter of bodily functions, and not enough to navigate to higher spheres of connection and emotion.
