@tuuu28283@Booze_and_Ammo I will add, "a big hospital" means it is a hospital that is big compared to hospitals in general. While, "this hospital is big" could refer to its size compared to other buildings. English has a lot of ambiguity that is solved through context which is harder to explain.
@tuuu28283@Booze_and_Ammo The "a" is to show you are only talking about the one hospital. However, if you were to put "the" in the same place it would become a comparative statement alluding to it being bigger than a different hospital. Keep it up. Asking questions is how you learn.
@tuuu28283@unyielding_h Every level of government can set its own laws through their law making bodies. National (Federal) laws apply everywhere but states have their own laws. Below the are county and cities that can have some of their own rules but those are often small things like quiet hours.
@DouglasSpaeder Agrarian backwater yes but they had an unbeatable army under Suvorov in the 1700's. As far as I'm aware most regimes created their own world class engineer not use one of the very people their ideology considers their enemy.
@JWhimOk@Rando51865268@trip_to_valkiri The StG 44 is long stroke like the ak not short stroke like the AR-18. The only real commonality is the stamped construction which doesn't carry over to the 416. Both piston systems are old with patents as far back as the 1890's. Things like the SVT-40 and the M1 carbine are SS.
@NemesisKodiak@HLC_actual@ncbcontrol I remember when I was young passing what was left of a brick house after an F-5 hit it. There was still half of one wall but other than that it was a concrete pad. It's hard to understand how quickly the devastation comes until you live here.
@aegirovik This kind of setup is unlikely to be of too much use. This has the same issue that most box fed AAA had in the past long reloads for only 30 synced shots. It would have been better to use 2-4 beltfed mgs linked together. More likely to simply improve morale than be effective.
@pg1227_7no The way I was taught to think of it is that the the last +/- is negitive the signs are different and the first +/- tells you which is bigger. So in this case my thought process would be "the signs are different and the larger one is positive"
@HisShadow45@WMcluskey@AlexHollings52@planefag The real reason for the size of intercontinental flight. The B-36 could fly to Europe and back without refueling. They were designing these before the first A bomb was made.
@NoamNadav3@ErikEngholm2@AlexHollings52 The B-36 could carry twice that load. It could carry two T-12 earthquake bombs each weighing 43,600 lbs. Max capacity of the F-16EX is a little under 30k lbs.
@unvarnishedvoid@TheEbonyMaw I think all the scam callers out of India and Africa has given the inflated impression that they do not care for others and would choose red. China has some of those coming out as well. If you don't trust 4/5s the population of the world to vote +blue then blue looks suicidal.
@unvarnishedvoid@TheEbonyMaw Okay, I think I understand. I would however say that just because they came to a different conclusion doesn't mean they aren't thinking of what others will do. Would you still pick blue if you thought it would get <45%?
@unvarnishedvoid@TheEbonyMaw I've never studied ToM so I can't say that I understand how effective it might be for actually judging what others will do. I usually split the population into 3rds(strong A strong B and neutral) and make a best guess on the center 3rd then revise down based on my own bias.
@unvarnishedvoid@TheEbonyMaw I think you may default to "others think like me" while I try to default to a more neutral view of others. I'm just noticing I've gotten much more cautious of others in general since I had a child. Either way it isn't like I don't understand your position.
@unvarnishedvoid@TheEbonyMaw I have no doubt in the west and if it were limited to only that I would expect 50-58% blue. I'm less sure about places like India and Africa where populations are high but trust is generally low. I tend to be cautious and risk adverse.
