@tonyannett@reedgalen Stalingrad had very little strategic significance. Baku was much more important for resources but hitler became obsessed with taking the city named after Stalin. If he hadn’t pivoted to Stalingrad and got bogged down, the eastern front would have been a more drawn out affair.
@scottloft@DaMidgetZimbo You say that like it’s a bad thing, the German system is incredibly structured and they’ve had outsized success. There are different paths to success. See: Germany and Brazil. The problem is there is no one solution. It’s 50 solutions that need to be implemented.
Why everyone is shocked that @FIFAcom would invent a new procedure to meet its ends is pretty rich. They need to review their peace prize award too…
Now the fact that there isn’t an official red card review and appeal procedure for nations is nuts as well.
LFG USA!!!!!
@schadjoe It’s a question about a team he doesn’t coach or face. I get it. And hems admitted he wanted the job. I think he would have done a better job than prior coaches too. I’m happy with our current one.
@KayceSmith Pulisic can dribble his way to glory and pierce through defenses. We’ll need to rely on others to pass through it and be incisive.
If the game is scoreless(or we are) well into 2nd half Australia’s strategy is working. I would like to see Reyna playing.
@rickjeff78 You have the right idea but wrong lense. It’s fuel. Truck pricing has gone up significantly and is driving an inversion of short haul truck pricing vs rail. Rail is competitive again vs truck over medium length distances because it uses fuel more efficiently.
@GeorgeOfTheNews@DylanByers There is the firing for cause. I’d expect the Pelly lawsuit within days. This is why you have any conversations about that in person or over the phone. The recording forced new mgmts hand. They couldn’t spin it with the whole thing out there.
