@SkippityDooooo@LaGriegax@dovedayo Also this is not a study on "lesbian marriages" there are two studies one on long term relationships and another on divorce rates neither specific to what type of marriage is happening so the lesbian part of the marriage is a sub category not the main object of the study
@SkippityDooooo@LaGriegax@dovedayo there are some studies that go further into like 10 year relationship breakdowns but even that data is more often then not misinterpreted and misrepresented.
@YunaanBanaanaa@AntitheistDas@LaGriegax@dovedayo Its because of compulsory heterosexuality is more prevalent in women. IE it is more accepted for women to say they think other women are attractive than it is for men to say other men are attractive so the first signs a woman might not be straight are often overlooked or put down
@ATallNerd27@LaGriegax@dovedayo Either way the data does not show what the OP original claimed it does. but yes I've seen this study as well and how often its misinterpreted. In the end the "lesbian" divorce rate is pretty close to the "Straight woman" divorce rate If i remember correctly
@MeddlinMegs@SkippityDooooo@LaGriegax@dovedayo Its a great example of how verbiage can mislead results, and why posting HOW a study is conducted is just as important as the data received.
@ATallNerd27@LaGriegax@dovedayo The study continues to say that women are also much more likely to leave a bad relationship that is no longer working for either party (which btw is actually considered healthy and mature). Rather than stick around in one that is miserable and resulting in nothing but arguements.
@ATallNerd27@LaGriegax@dovedayo And yet when you read the study it actually says in the conclusion that because they look at lifetime data it maybe skewed since it does not look at the gender of the partner divorced and that past male partners of lesbians will in fact effect the data trend.
@SkippityDooooo@LaGriegax@dovedayo I've never seen a study where they actually quantify the gender of the other party in the divorce they only ask if they have Ever divorced in their life and if they currently identify as gay/straight/bi/lesbian ect
@ianasilim@GregorHunt3@kyoruyeye Thanks I will. ๐ after all its the identifier I've been given since the early 2000s. Sorry to hear about your team though, that sucks.
"adults shouldn't be in fandoms" you mean the ppl who are writing the fics you read and enjoy every day? the people who do most for a fandom in general? ๐ญ or do you believe that all of your favorite fics were written by a 15yo? this argument doesn't make sense on so many levels
@lyneykicia@Kinky_Hoe@kyoruyeye Ive been a butch lesbian longer than you've been alive. Take a seat. My LGBT community has always viewed it as a personal identity and authentic self-expression rather than an intentional political stance because when I came out being masculine WAS political just by existing
