@Peposed Yeah man, it's a great time so far. Ive been having fun reading it while listening to score to the 2008 Wachowski movie. Really helps set the mood.
@sapphyreblayze Ryan North is one of my favorite Big Two writers, and his career started by making a webcomic based on the fact that he can't draw. Then there's books like JLI, where Giffen is doing the plots and layouts for Maguire to draw and JMD to script. It's what I love about comics.
@sapphyreblayze I finally started reading his JSA run recently after being a lifelong Johns hater, and yeah, I have to admit that it totally rocks. Now I just want to know where that Johns went.
@dcuworld Definitely agreed. Sherman is an artist who wasn't on my radar at all last year, but now they're one of my favorites. I'll follow them anywhere
@sapphyreblayze Mike Baron is at least as responsible. He gave Wally some absolute unhinged lines, like telling Chunk to emulate great men like G Gordon Liddy and Henry Kissinger.
@EvanReadsComics I would really love a return to something like DC's Showcase series from the 50s - 70s. Let's give newer characters a testing ground for 3 or 4 issues before forcing them to sink or swim on a new ongoing.
@EvanReadsComics Not quite the same conversation, but how many of the events at the Big Two have been written by a woman? Not tie in issues, but the main series. I'm struggling to think of even one.
@EvanReadsComics North is also the first writer to fully get Alicia too. I love that she's a major part of the action and never has to sit on the sidelines.
@DenizCamp Giffen, DeMatteis and Maguire's JLI. I know it often gets labeled as the funny book, but there's so much heart too. It's able to be both thrilling and hilarious.
@EvanReadsComics This is the Doom series I always recommend people check out. It's often sadly overlooked, probably because it was written more for kids, but it's really great.
