@DanielDiMartino What a stupid take. Also, if you cared about making immigrants inadmissible, you’d be criticizing attempts to expand the ground of inadmissibility, not the people who want to stop the expansion.
1. There’s no evidence he is a Hamas terrorist
2. There’s no evidence he’s a Hamas colonel
3. Even if both of the above were true, which they are not, that’s still not justification for holding a human being for 18 months without charge and torturing him in detention.
FFS.
@elonmusk Unsurprisingly stupid take. That aside, it’s telling that it doesn’t concern you more that Republicans have no qualms—and instead are eager—to send people to a place they themselves describe and believe is a hellhole.
Even more than in the past, it is clear today that the proliferation of armed conflicts is often driven by the exploitation of oil and mineral deposits, with no regard for international law or the self-determination of peoples.
God does not bless any conflict. Anyone who is a disciple of Christ, the Prince of Peace, is never on the side of those who once wielded the sword and today drop bombs. Military action will not create space for freedom or times of #Peace, which comes only from the patient promotion of coexistence and dialogue among peoples.
"Jews don't belong in American society."
Imagine a sitting member of Congress tweeting that. You can't. Thankfully, it'd never happen. And *if* it did, it'd be the end of their career and the biggest story in America.
But Ogles can say this about Muslims without any censure.
@PressSec@willchamberlain Right — just like Alex Pretti supposedly “wanted to do maximum damage and massacre law enforcement”? Just because lying is second nature to you and you’ve lost touch with reality doesn’t mean the rest of us have.
The brazen lawlessness should be terrifying to anyone with half a brain. Not surprising — but terrifying. From day one, @SecRubio’s dictator tendencies have been on full display. It’s political science 101 that weakening checks and balances and consolidating power in one branch of government (usually the executive) without meaningful limits marks a shift away from democracy and toward authoritarianism. Oh & he should be disbarred, because the “law” he claims doesn’t exist is called the Constitution — and it requires permission.
