A solodev working on The Core. Play as a lost but determined AI core. Explore a desolate world, solve puzzles, and unravel the purpose behind your creation.
After working on The Core for...well, quite a while now, it's time for the grand reveal!
Ladies and gentlemen, I am absolutely thrilled to announce that The Core will be ROLLING out to Early Access on August 13th!
Working on this project was quite a journey and a learning experience. Just writing this feels surreal. There's more to come, that's for sure, but as of right now, I feel comfortable showing everyone what I've been working on. And when the time comes, I would absolutely love to hear what you all think!
Until then, I'll share more gameplay snippets of everything you can expect to experience in The Core!

And seeing how the cat is out of the bag now, I guess now is a good time to follow it up with even more good news. In order to properly mark and celebrate the EA release date, I'm also hosting a Gleam giveaway for a chance for y'all to win some free Steam Gift cards (who doesn't like those?!)
The rules are quite simple. Complete as many tasks and challenges as possible. The more you complete, the higher your odds are!
Good luck!
Well, the first reviews are ROLLING IN!
The fine folks over at @Open_Critic took The Core out for a test drive (or umm... test...roll?), and they seem to be digging it so far! A very special shout-out and a big thank you to @jagtress for writing such a thorough piece about my project. I'm absolutely thrilled you liked it!

If you thought this was going to be a gameplay clip of me failing...well...honestly, that makes two of us, I'm surprised I managed to pull through.

I've had tons of fun putting together this course, and I gotta say, I'm very satisfied with how it all turned out (especially the rail segments).
It also feels like the environment ties it all together quite nicely.

Jump pads on their own can be quite fun (especially if the jump itself is quite big). BUT, what happens when you add MOVING JUMP PADS?

The big day is finally here!
Starting today, until June 22nd, you'll be able to catch The Core, along with numerous other interesting and well-crafted indie games during #SteamNextFest. This is my first time participating in such an event, and I am beyond excited and thrilled to showcase what I've done with my game so far.
If The Core ever caught your attention at some point, now would be a great opportunity to give my demo a try!
LET'S KEEP THIS SHOW ROLLING!

A staple of every puzzle game ever: PRESSURE PADS!
You’ve probably seen something like this in other puzzle games before. Cough Portal cough.
Still, they’re a lot of fun to build around.

Hey, thanks for your question! The thrusters are a puzzle mechanic and the level 1 thruster is constrained in a couple of ways to create the challenge for the puzzles. As the game progresses and the thruster is upgraded, your flight height and the fuel burn time increases to provide more of the freedom feeling you are referring to. However, if your experience wasn't fun or if you have recommendations for improvement, I would love to hear your feedback!
Tired of rolling? Me neither.
But I still wanted to spice things up a bit, so I added a new traversal mechanic: THRUSTERS.
Now you can roll and fly around to your heart’s content... at least until you run out of fuel.
