@shaun_vids I suppose what we understand to be masculine or feminine can be expressed in ways which are helpful rather than harmful though, which I think answers your first question. So positive masculinity may be valuing courage over dominance? But at that point, again, why is that masc?
@shaun_vids If our understanding of masc & fem is defined by patriarchal norms then I struggle to find what is positive in either. Or I find individual traits positive until the point at which it gets gendered. Nurturing is good, but why fem? Courage is good, but why masc?
@Henry_Raby I run workshops on sexual harassment in schools and he comes up all the time! To be fair, a lot of them bring him up as an example of misogyny, but then you can feel the tension in the group from his fans. We had to roll out guidance for the whole team on how to respond.
As Hideout Theatre steps into 2023 we're looking to engage with new writers. If you have a script, a monologue, or even an idea, we would love to hear from you.

funniest moment in It’s a Wonderful Life is when George says “what happened to Mary in the dark timeline where I don’t exist” and Clarence says “George, you really don’t—” and George says “TELL ME” and Clarence says “she’s SINGLE and RUNNING A LIBRARY”
