If someone were to do an audit of Nursery, Reception and Year 1 classrooms in state schools in England, to see how many ordinary picture books (not part of reading schemes) there are, in those classrooms, what would the audit find, do you think?

Firefighters reportedly attended an automatic fire alarm at the Radcliffe Camera library in Oxford this morning.
During previous demonstrations, police have asked firefighters to help remove protesters.
Firefighting is a humanitarian role. The FBU advises members not to assist with law enforcement activities.
🚨 BREAKING 🚨
Senior management at BrewDog have told workers that they must come into work from 6pm despite a serious weather warning still in place. This may force workers to travel during stay at home/risk to life warning.
If they don’t come in, they won’t be paid.
Eating disorder services have become worse rather than better over the past few years, MPs have said in a report that says some trusts are discharging patients with a body mass index (BMI) of less than 15 and even as low as 11

Smallest? Pygmy shrews are Britain's smallest mammal, with hearts beating around 20 times per SECOND! And they need to eat about 1.2 times their own body every day. 4-6 cm long with tails about half that length, I embroidered them life size. Which is pretty small! #embroidery
Just said in @UKHouseofLords that political parties have been obliged over the last 25 years to declare the sources and scale of donations above a very modest amount. I asked why shouldn’t pressure groups seeking to influence the political process be subject to the same rules?
Four key points from my new report:
➡️ First interaction with police must be right every single time.
➡️ Domestic abuse victims must be supported throughout the criminal justice process.
➡️ Court backlog must be addressed.
➡️ Abusers must be rooted out within police. 2/4
@StevenLyons1957@beesley_cathy Businesses shouldn't have staff (or contractors) they can't afford to pay fairly!! A huge proportion of families in poverty are working in underpaid jobs!
@CooperPalaeo@guardian Good point. (Re humans being even worse). I'm still traumatised from documentaries of orcas chasing baby seals through the surf. 😭
From 2005-15, 19 children were killed because of unsafe contact with abusive parents.
Two of those were Jack and Paul Sykes, the sons of my constituent @clairethrossell.
I was honoured to have Claire present for my Westminster Hall debate on presumption of contact earlier today
Rachel Reeves says she'll amend the finance bill to soften planned changes to the non dom tax regime after intense lobbying from wealthy UK residents 🤨
The govt will increase the "temporary repatriation facility" which allows non-doms to bring money instantly to UK without paying significant taxes.
“We have been listening to the concerns that have been raised by the non-dom community,” she says.
@TristanCorkPost Oh, that's really sad! The cafe at Winterstoke, Bristol is an affordable community hub in an area where there really isn't much. @sainsburys#cafe

The purpose of driving licences is to certify people who have shown they're capable of safely driving a car, and not anything else. Adult citizens aren't children, and driving licenses aren't a treat for good behaviour, or a privilege to be withheld as punishment.
The Committee also voted against hearing evidence from an elder abuse charity, a domestic abuse charity, and the British Geriatrics Society
They have not (yet) u-turned on this
