Democrats have not won a gubernatorial election in Ohio since 2006. Ramaswamy, who ran for president in 2024, has the backing of President Trump and the entire Ohio Republican Party. HOWEVER, Ramaswamy has been under fire after his campaign had aired an ad that featured Acton's estranged mother.

Amy Acton and her mother have parted since Acton was 12, after her mother's domestic partner was charged with raping her. If Ramaswamy wants to regain his chances at winning, condemning the advertisement would be his best move.

Democrats have not won a gubernatorial election in South Dakota since 1974. President Donald Trump won the state by 29.2% in 2024.

Colom is now challenging her for her Senate seat, but Mississippi is likely too red for Democrats to flip.
