What if the Neon console was multiplayer? 👀

This is such an awsome overview of @neondatabase Realtime, and how you can build advanced multi-user/agent systems on it with @mastra.
Perfect pairing! 🚀🥳

Electric re-born as Neon Realtime!

The team has been *flying* the last couple months completely re-building Electric in a new company and a new codebase. With a new take, we've been able to dramatically increase the SQL coverage that can sync.

It's @vercel_dev ship today, so we launched Neon Realtime with Next.js realtime with SSR out of the box: https://t.co/rNngvujrTw

As a longtime @neondatabase user, there is one feature that I have always wanted.

Well...

[Andre Landgraf @andrelandgraf]

This is the launch of the year for me.

The best UX on the web have always been realtime (Notion, Linear, Google Docs) but realtime has never made it into the mainstream.

Today, we're launching Neon Realtime - built by the team behind ElectricSQL.

With a single toggle in the Console, CLI, or MCP, you can enable realtime for your Neon Postgres database. It works with Server-Side Rendering (Next.js, TanStack Start), Drizzle ORM, TanStack DB, and, of course, Postgres.

Why am I so excited for this? Agents, of course. The web has never been more mutliplayer than today.

If you expose an MCP server or run your custom agents in the background making changes on your data, your apps and dashboard should show the agent changes in real time.

This was never easy to build without significantly altering your tech stack.

Adding realtime to your Neon Postgres-based apps is now straightforward, without any massive code migrations.

Keep using Postgres. Keep using Drizzle. Keep using SSR. And with TanStack DB, you won't even need any Neon-specific SDKs (just a tiny adapter).

So stoked for this! ⚡️⚡️

[James Arthur @thruflo]

It's @ElectricSQL done right, inside Neon.

[Electric @ElectricSQL]

It's a drop-in replacement for Electric and goes much further, with arbitrary live SQL queries, including joins, aggregates and ordering.

With end-to-end type-safe reactivity, SSR and more. Check it out at https://t.co/4a3iJtXCLy

[Electric @ElectricSQL]

The @ElectricSQL team has shipped Neon Realtime. Realtime live SQL with full reactivity on standard Postgres.

[Neon @neondatabase]

Neon now has realtime, built by the team behind Electric. Turn any SQL query into a live query, joins and aggregates included. All inside Postgres, and ready for agents.

It’s in public beta and available in all Neon plans. Give it a try and tell us what you think!

[James Arthur @thruflo]

Previously, to build realtime apps you've needed some sort of special sync system.

With Neon Realtime you now get realtime reactivity built directly into Postgres.

PGlite has hit **20 Million Downloads / Week!**
Absolutely mind blowing the growth we are seeing 🤯🚀
We have a bunch of stuff planned, including Postgres v19 support soon after it's release later this month.

Come for Neon’s developer experience, stay for the architecture: Postgres on object storage.

Thanks @andrelandgraf for the chat.

It’s pretty cool what we can do now we’re inside the database and working with @neondatabase’s storage system.

[Andre Landgraf @andrelandgraf]

I’m very excited about this. Coming next to the Neon backend: realtime.

Sync is incredibly hard to get right - especially if the goal is to make it great to work with, support as many database query use cases as possible, and scale well.

Sync coming to Neon was probably obvious to many after our announcement that the Electric team is joining Databricks but we can finally announce it officially today!

The Electric team is building sync for Neon. I asked @thruflo about joining Databricks and their first few weeks at the company: https://t.co/raOgKECI6r
