@shinganc@Zama_N13@Ms_Hadebe @mtangayi_elhim @fifimoeng The other difference is that the way west pronounced it and the way we do is totally different. We don't say "Mak-hula" as you'd pronounce "Coolie" we say "Makula" as you'd pronounce "kula" not "khula"
@Kgotso01442773@BroughamSmith@Ms_Hadebe @mtangayi_elhim @fifimoeng It would be wrong because they can say "blacks" instead of the k word but with Indians there's Tswana word to say "Indians" except for "Makula".
@BroughamSmith@Ms_Hadebe @mtangayi_elhim @fifimoeng And honestly speaking, I didn't even know about the word "coolie" because that's not the meaning we were given for the word when growing up. How we associate with Indians this side would show you that we don't call them "Makula" with a double meaning under.
@BroughamSmith@Ms_Hadebe @mtangayi_elhim @fifimoeng So based on where you are and how you got used to the word defines how you use the word. In your area you might be right about the meaning of it but in my area you're wrong.
