If fixing electricity were easy, every candidate would have a track record, but they don’t.
Rotimi Amaechi is the only former Governor who significantly increased a state’s power capacity and developed embedded distribution support infrastructure from scratch.
Nigeria doesn’t need “potential.” We need someone who has already demonstrated the ability to tackle the problem.
Speaker, Rivers State House of Assembly - 8 years
Governor of Rivers State - 8 years
Minister of Transport - 8 years
Rotimi Amaechi spent 24 years in top jobs in government. 2 years out of power he has become opposition.
He was also the Chairman of Nigeria's Conference of Speakers of State Assemblies
Shameless man.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. dedicated his life fighting for equity and justice. He taught us that even in the face of intimidation and discrimination, we must never stop working towards a better future – a lesson that feels especially relevant today.
Change has never been easy. It takes persistence and determination, and requires all of us to speak out and stand up for what we believe in. As we honor Dr. King today, let’s draw strength from his example, and do our part to build on his legacy.
TWO MORE RIVERS LAWMAKERS DEMAND END TO IMPEACHMENT PLOT
Two additional members of the Rivers State House of Assembly; Barile Nwakoh, representing Khana Constituency I and Emilia Amadi of Obio/Akpor Constituency I, have called on their colleagues to withdraw the impeachment proceedings against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Professor Ngozi Nma Odu.
This brings the total number of lawmakers who have taken this position to four within the last 24 hours.
I go dey beg dem, until all of dem withdraw. Make dem forgive and forget 🙏😊
Tru tru wetin Fubara do no good 🤭🤭
SEN. GEORGE THOMPSON SEKIBO;
We are not perturbed!
I saw in the media a subtle display of affluence in which you paraded the now-expelled PDP member and FCT Minister, Mr. Nyesom Wike, around your newly exalted mansion—apparently to demonstrate how “much of a man” you are. Congratulations!
However, Senator, while you gallivanted through your mansion, you did not show the erstwhile PDP chieftain any list—if such exists—of projects executed or people genuinely empowered in Ogu, your hometown, or across your Rivers East Senatorial District.
You proudly handed out drinks (whether or not they were 40-year-old whisky), but failed to present something far more important: the legislative record of what you achieved during your long stay in the National Assembly.
You were first elected 2007–2011 (6th National Assembly), re-elected 2011–2015 (7th National Assembly), and also served during 2015–2017 and 2019–2023 (8th and 9th National Assemblies) as Senator representing Rivers East—approximately fourteen (14) years in the Senate.
Yet, you did not show him:
• How many bills you sponsored
• How many motions you initiated
• What landmark interventions can be directly traced to your legislative presence.
As a Rivers man(particularly from your Senatorial district), it would be intellectually honest to compare your record with that of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi State, who—despite spending less than three years in the Senate (her illegal suspension notwithstanding)—has already left visible and indelible marks on Nigeria’s legislative and developmental landscape.
Today, many of the people who elected you four times into the National Assembly still wallow in abject poverty, deprivation, and penury.
So, Senator, as you admire your magnificent mansion, kindly pause and ask yourself a simple moral question: How many life's or families have you lifted from abject poverty, what visible constituency project have you executed that is still impacting on the life of people from your Senatorial district?
I laugh in Etche language
Rivers Ijaw Congress withdraws support for Fubara, backs Wike
The Rivers Ijaw People’s Congress (RIPCON) has withdrawn support for Siminilayi Fubara, governor of the state.
Speaking on Saturday during a stakeholders’ meeting in Okrika LGA of Rivers state, George Sekibo, chairman of the group, said the congress now backs Nyesom Wike, minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Sekibo, a former senator, described Fubara as ungrateful, noting that he became governor through Wike’s support.
“Please don’t look at him and think we [Ijaw people] are all ungrateful people. Ijaw people are very grateful people,” Sekibo told Wike, who attended the meeting.

Even Terrorists are not even humiliated like this.
This is the same army begging youths to enlist?
Who in their right mind will join a mafia that humiliates its own senior officers on camera?
Bunch of uniformed cowards terrorizing the people they swore to protect.
Disgraceful.
Utterly disgraceful.
