In their report, they can either communicate a fact in USD or Thai Baht, whichever they feel more connected to.

It's Sunday. I'm planning my slides for next week. When I use Ss' languagae(s), I try to place it NEXT TO never UNDER English.

If I do, it sends a language hierarchy message. This is one way to create a language-friendly classroom.

While I had my students thinking inside the polygon, I had to think outside of it. This expectation is in measurement but I felt it oddly placed. I gave it a new home in algebra, letting my students form the equation themselves. Such excellent math talk today. So proud of my 8s.

We did a practice activity and I recorded the submissions to determine where we would progress next. After take up I went back to check if I missed any last minute submissions. It was such a great pleasure to see second (1) and third (2) attempts. So proud. #grit

So excited my grad gifts to my 8s arrived. It has prompts for writing to get to know themselves better over four years, perfect for high school! #ontarioteacher #graduation

I attended great PD yesterday. It had me considering how we set our MLL learners up to be successful sharers in the classroom. I brainstormed what I could do in tomorrow’s lesson and decided to use visual representations of word problems to create a more accessible entry point.

We have started patterns and relationships in 8. Virtual manipulatives made such a nice addition to foster math talk and modeling. #patternsandrelationships #ontarioteacher

All set to give my class some Valentine’s Day fun. Each grade will get a story adventure (fluids for 8s and PS&M for 7s). Can you solve this clue from the 7s story? It describes making invisible ink from a mixture of baking soda and water. #ontarioteacher

To prepare for Terry Fox day at our school I digitized the foundation’s design a shoe project for my virtual learners. Each was able to make their shoes completely in Google Slides™. They did an amazing job creating shoes for our virtual walk. @WellingtonCath #terryfoxrun
