There's a little extra in the game. An ASCII painter.
It has nothing to do with the game really. I just wanted to draw in ASCII, so I added one.

Weekends are good dev time. This time I added fog.

Only the area around you is lit, and your tunnels stay lit. When the seal breaks, you can hear where the hidden stairs are, and that's your way down.

Every floor starts in the dark.

@WeVennStudios Mostly, yes. With the rock that bright, the ore, the @ and the monsters kept getting lost. Darker rock lets them stand out. It's also closer to NetHack, where solid rock is just darkness.

[ElephantHead @ElephantHead85]

These past few days I've been nudging the ASCII closer to the NetHack I remember.

Messages up top, a status line at the bottom, darker rock, explosions in a 3×3 box. It says hello when you start, too.

Before / after.

@TheGamerSection Buried a little TNT pocket in floor 4 today to test chain explosions.

One swing. BOOM! (x26)

After that you walk through the crater and pick up the copper. All ASCII, built on a long love of NetHack.
