@LambentLucien Good lord the comments 😅🫣 Pretty sure you knew potatoes r from America. In finnish they're even called peruna (as in Peru). It's just that they're a kind of event in the spring. People look forward to the first "new potatoes" as a sign of summer. A festive food
@puustikorva@mj8483812812282 Mun mielestä keneenkään ei saa käydä käsiksi vaikka kuinka ärsyttäisi.. Ei olla mitää tarhalaisia enää. Ilmeisesti jotku on jääny sille tasolle vielä aikuisenakin, surullista.
To my North American friends and the hockey community:
Although you are far from Europe and may not see or feel the reality of russia’s actions - killing hundreds of people in Ukraine daily - we in Europe see it clearly. We are telling you that letting them back into international competition is not an option until russia gets the F out of Ukraine.
To North American hockey journalists: start asking the right questions. Ask rus players how they feel about their country occupying neighboring nations. You will be "surprised" by the results.
@areaman22@CanesStats In Finland everyone you meet is going to have stories of relatives killed or wounded against russia. My grandparents lost their home. Russia's currently engaged in hybrid warfare and sabotage against us. We cannot play them as long as Ukrainians are getting killed, absolutely not
@Canuckgirl20 It's not extra, it's the bare minimum. What's wrong with you? Russia is not just attacking Ukraine, it's engaging in hybrid warfare and sabotage against other european countries. Agreeing to play them as long as the war lasts would be shameful
@KotaSeitz@ice_chip The nordic countries would boycott the whole thing if Russia was allowed in. This will not change as long as the war lasts. Some things are bigger than entertainment
@shimaintheus This the stupid work of a populist minority party in the current government. It's unfortunately been tolerated by our spineless prime minister for political reasons. They will absolutely pay come next elections, people are deeply embarrassed and furious about their behaviour!
@vin_jay_ Yeah the younger generations less and less. Though it's also due to humility being a core value in our culture. It's seen as performative to go out of your way to show others you're religious. That's supposed to be between you and god
@nuuttiruo Itellä alkaa 3. vuosi opintoja, toivottavasti selviää ilman lainaa. Vuokrasta saan kyllä sukulaisalennuksen joten parempi tilanne ku monella. Tein ennen opintoja välivuonna 6kk töitä nii oli ehkä 15k säästössä, oli hyvä päätös varsinkin kun kesätyöt on nyt niin tiukassa
@napadeslocado Is it just me or did Sweden's song feel sped-up?? Also I feel like the performance suffered from losing the 4th dancer, not having proper trees and audience being muted
@AdamWylde As a finn, any national team trying to play against Russia while the invasion is going on would immidiately be booed off the ice in Finland. They're literally waging war on our doorstep and actively engaging in hybrid warfare against us
@FutureCanes From his interview it sounded like he was offered opportunities but didn't feel like bouncing up and down between NHL and AHL at this point. Totally fair
@DrakeMT It's only the most iconic pattern in finnish fashion.. 😑Never landed in North-America I guess, but Marimekko is pretty successfull in Asia. Their clothing pieces go for like 100-500€ these days
