The wait time is not a secret and it’s well documented in the medical literature and well known!

Unfortunately, following the recommended time in Canada is variable between provinces and between cases

The issue is healthcare shortage but also financial cost.

Healthcare is not free it’s universal system and the cost is very high

To make the list short many things need to be fixed, either you have:

1. A 24h turnover rate at all hospitals including weekends until the wait list is cleared which seems impossible from administrative and nursing staff perspective
And if the physicians have a salary and not paid by procedure then the system will continue to be the same

2. Accept the private- public cooperation and not to be afraid that people will die if they don’t have insurance there’s many ways to do this collaboration and many successful systems in Europe were implemented many decades ago
This will reduce the burden on public hospitals and will improve access to care
