I just spoke with a part-time wildland firefighter Israel Justice who is deployed to the Iron/Cherry Fire.
He says his Ogden employer knew for years he could be called to fires with little notice and had worked with him before.
This time, he says he was told he’d lose his job if he left.
He went anyway. And he doesn't know if he'll have a job when he returns.

It's really sad because if we had elected a normal president, the 250th anniversary of our country would have been a really cool celebration of everything that makes this country great.
