That’s why most of these commercial activists are quietly supporting Ruto’s re-election, whether directly or through silence.
If you paid attention during the last protests, you’ll notice they completely avoided the #OccupyStateHouse conversation. Why? Because deep down they know that if this system is dismantled completely and replaced with something that actually works, they become irrelevant. A just system leaves them with nothing to complain about, no drama to monetize, no chaos to organize around.
Governments understand this very well. That’s why they often infiltrate movements through these same activists, people who appear loud but are planted to control momentum. They’re the ones who start saying “Let’s protest from 9AM to 4PM then go home” or “Let’s wait and give dialogue a chance.” That’s not revolution. That’s controlled activism. It’s designed to let you feel like you did something, while making sure the system remains untouched.
Real change doesn’t come with a schedule. It doesn’t ask for permission. And it definitely doesn’t rely on people who make a living from permanent outrage without permanent results.
