Making your first $1000 as a creative or a designer won’t be possible if you don’t know these 10 points;

“Seeing design as a business more than you see it as a skill or service”

Instead of always talking design, talk business, talk strategy, do business, do strategy.

🔺Create a Business Plan, Have your Business Canvas; Verbal Identity for a personal brand and standard brand identity when you scale.

🔺 Create a separate bank account for your design services, pay yourself salary from there.

🔺 Invest directly in your Business from your business money; Buy Access to courses, Spend on knowledge, Get Fast Gadgets, Get A good workspace that will bring you comfort while working, create systems that is repeatable.

🔺 Create your business documents; If it’s a personal brand, register your name as a trade mark, if you grow to scale, register your team or agency with CAC, legalize it.

🔺 Create Transaction documents; Create Project process documents, Invoices, Reciepts, Proposal Templates, Editable Rate card etc.

🔺 Invest fraction of your business money to other sectors; Buy Shares and stocks, invest in assets.

🔺 Be in the gathering of entrepreneurs; Don’t just always be in community with designers, you will be limited, attaend business conferences, sales conferences. Buy suit and sit side by side to business men who are not really designers.

🔺 Learn content creation and marketing; and please you mustn’t learn from a fellow designer. Be ready to always create strategic contents that will position you as an authority in your field.

🔺 Write a list of fishing strategies and don’t stop trying, Create content on your socials, Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, if it’s not working fast combine it with freelancing site, Upwork, contra, etc, if it’s slow combine with Cold DM and Email, if it’s slow too, leave your house, be in gathering, join and engage in conversations and ideally pitch yourself always. Do few hyper strategic volunteering too.

🔺 Lastly, learn confidence and communication; Even at N0 don’t always talk or act like your world is ending, money doesn’t flow to the direction of pity. VALUE FOR VALUE, Bring your value boldly to the table and fill your pocket with money. Relate well with every client that cross your part too.

@packagingdesig_ Another addition, if you want to work in RGB, set it up at the beginning of your document because you won't get that full range of colors when you convert from CMYK to RGB.
