Thank you for your leadership @mayawiley 🙏 You were also the first to condemn the backhanded racist innuendo from the beginning. It was a pleasure to meet you, and I’m wearing your colors! 😊
#YangGang please give me all of the attacks against Andrew Yang that you absolutely hate.
I’m about to make a video going in on all of them tonight to publish on Thursday, and I want all the ammo that y’all are willing to give me.
@AndrewYang should not have to endure this. No New Yorker who is Asian or Pacific Islander should. This is an offensive cartoon and we all have an obligation to call it out. #StopAsianHate
“Reacted badly to how his eyes are drawn?” Ok, you fixed how beady & slanted they are, yay. Ignore the fact that API leaders told you this “perpetual foreigner”racist trope is inciting violence against APIs being told to “go home” across the country. And you published it anyway.
Don’t use “gaps in knowledge” to justify racism. You promote a calculated, xenophobic narrative. Ask ANY candidate 100 questions about city acronyms & they will get 2 of them wrong. 90% of NYC doesn’t vote for mayor—are only 10% New Yorkers? Real question is why all the apathy?
Whether you are a 3rd generation, have lived in NYC for 20 years, served this country in the military, or are a NASA astronaut, the media will continue to portray Asians as perpetual foreigners.
This is disgusting and wrong. Every single day Asian Americans have to fight the notion that we are foreigners. We are here and we’re not going anywhere. That’s why AAPI representation like @andrewyang is so important. Do better @NYDailyNews
I can’t believe my eyes. To publish this racist disfiguration of @AndrewYang as a tourist, in NYC where I was born, where Andrew has lived for 25 years, where our boys were born, where 16% of us are Asian and anti-Asian hate is up 900%. #StopAsianHate
