@decodoku @CarrieWeirdner Well so the challenge was to decompose a given unitary into single qubit rotations and CNOT gates, while optimizing a cost function. There was no proof of optimality, we just thought we knew the best decomposition.. but then some participants actually reduced it by one gate!
