Dr. Hak Ja Han’s Defense: “Yoon Young-ho’s Statements Contradict Evidence and Records”

Calls for the 83-year-old defendant to remain free to protect her health and exercise her defense rights.

Dr. Hak Ja Han’s defense team strongly criticized Yoon Young-ho’s statements as “false and completely inconsistent with physical evidence, entry records, and document dates.”

✅They pointed out that:
- A report Yoon claimed to have submitted in January 2022 was actually written in January 2023
- His accounts of the Chanel bag and Graff necklace changed repeatedly during the investigation
- Claims about a post-election greeting and prior reporting of a presidential visit also conflict with his diary, entry records, and earlier statements

The defense further argued that the special prosecutor overreached by investigating beyond the original scope and that nearly half of the 3,400 pieces of evidence were illegally obtained.

They stressed that “Dr. Hak Ja Han is only a religious leader; administration and finances were handled by Yoon,” and asked that the 83-year-old defendant remain free so she can protect her health and exercise her right to defense.

The first-instance ruling is set for the 31st, with focus on the credibility of Yoon’s statements.
