The first viral picture of Punch! Before the fame, before we knew his name, before he became everyone’s favorite little heart-stealer, there was this tiny baby monkey sitting quietly beside his plushie. 🧸🥹

Seventeen years ago, Otome-chan was fortunate enough to grow up surrounded by support. She had the love of an adoptive mother, a father figure watching over her, and a best friend in Ryu 🧸. It's hard not to wonder whether being female helped her gain acceptance more easily within the troop.
Otome had privileges Punch has never really known. She got first choice at the food bucket and could feed alongside the others without much concern. Yes, Punch can eat from the bucket too, but that's about the only luxury he enjoys.
That's why it frustrates me when people say Punch should stop clinging to his papas or stop relying on Oran Mama. Why should he? His papas were his first source of comfort and security. Oran Mama came next, and she's been the one constant who never scolds him when he needs reassurance. For a youngster who started life without the support Otome had, those bonds matter.
Otome-chan was already 1 year and 2 months old when, after three months of nursing care, the troop began to accept her. They started eating together through the cage bars, and baby monkeys born the same year, Mimi and Marco, were eventually able to approach and even touch her.
Punch is only 10 months old.🧸🤎🐵
Otome's story shows that acceptance takes time. She wasn't independent overnight. She had support, patience, and trusted relationships to lean on while she found her place.
Punch will outgrow his papas and Oran Mama too—but he'll do it naturally, when he's ready, and when he chooses. Until then, there's nothing wrong with a baby monkey holding on to the ones who make him feel safe. ❤️🐒🧸#PunchKun #OtomeChan #JapaneseMacaque #MonkeyMountain #IchikawaZoo #MacaqueLife #AnimalBehavior #PrimateFamily #FoundFamily #MonkeyFriends #OranMama #PapaLove #GrowingUpMonkey #TroopLife #PatienceAndTrust #EveryMonkeyNeedsSupport #AcceptanceTakesTime #BabyMonkey #PrimateRescue #MonkeyStories #TeamPunch #LetPunchBeAPup #TrustTheProcess #RyuBear 🐒🧸❤️

Taehyung asking the lady president to stand beside them… it’s the way he is always attentive to the people around him. Quietly thoughtful, effortlessly gentlemanly.

"I love everything about this song, from the vocoder to how hopeful it makes me, how much it makes you want to live, be present, make memories with the people you love, tell them you do, run, laugh, do everything, do nothing, but mostly reach out to your friends who aren't doing well - if you aren't doing well behind your screen here's a little *virtual hug* for you, we can wait until dawn together - you got this 🌄..."
