So the reason this is different because you proc the ability after is because, when you are grade 0, you do not have a Glitter vanguard. So the CONT is not fulfilled. As a result, the card does not "get all of the following"
Basically the card doesn't have the AUTO at the time
And since you discard then ride, you discarded while the vanguard doesn't have Glitter and as such doesn't have the AUTO that triggers
