#NCBTChat A3. I ask for student input. After each skill, I survey students and ask what they understood well, what tools are we using that are beneficial and which are not, what do they need me to cover again. This help put them in charge of their learning.

#NCBTChat A2. I utilize fun writing prompts as a "smart stop" to practice writing, but also to get to know them. I ask questions like "If you could have a theme song, what would it be? How does it represent you as a person?". I also share my responses.

@AmyLaughter It really just depends. I have just sent a simple "hello, you are missed" postcard. I sent candy for Valentine's Day. I run a participation challenge for my online learners. They earn a point each time they contribute to the class conversation, so the winner gets a mailed prize.

#NCBTChat I have used the Remind App and sent "Fun Mail" to their house. They get so excited to have snail mail, even if they are in high school.

@Burneygang I also use the Remind App and I find it useful, even if it is not as creative because it is similar to texting. This is very helpful for my high school students and their parent's because it is how they communicate.
