Deleting Article 41.2 will remove the Constitutional right for a mother to care for her children at home. Eamon de Valera was inspired by US feminist Ivy Pinchbeck to create this Clause so that working class mothers were not forced by economic necessity to go to work in factories for pittance and leave their young children at home. Our Constitution has enshrined within it the core principles of our Nationalist Revolutionaries. If we remove Article 41.2 there is nothing to stop successive governments from reducing or eroding protective rights and benefits for women through legislation, such as maternity protections and the rule that Child Benefit is paid directly to a mother. Today we see the State and their agents do everything in their power to tear apart our Constitution. Mother's need as much protection from economic attack to care for their children at home as they did when our forefathers wrote this Clause. Families and mothers are the cornerstone of our Irish society. Stand up for Irish mothers. Stand up for women. Stand up for families. Stand with your ancestors. Do NOT let them down. #VoteNoNo
