On the morning of October 7, Captain Yuval Doak, the commander of the Nahal Patrol's PLASEM, woke up to the sound of alarms and reports.

In her pajamas, with only a pistol in her hands, she jumped into her car and raced towards the perimeter, to join the fighting and assist her unit members.

On the way, she encountered a convoy of terrorists on motorcycles.

“I grabbed the steering wheel with my knees and started shooting,” she said.

She managed to eliminate two terrorists, alone, in the middle of the road.

Then, on the orders of her commander, she arrived to lead the unit's combat operations, directing forces, coordinating aircraft, and saving many lives.

When the chain of command collapsed, Yuval took responsibility and led the battle.

She turned her home living room into a combat operations center, and led the patrol in the field until the battle was stopped.

A true hero!
