Today was a #BlackDay for Tripura.
Tripura police used tear gases, water cannon and lathi charged thousands of unarmed peaceful protesters including many school girls who were just asking for two minutes of time from the Hon’ble Governor to meet and discuss a very grave issue concerning their future. I strongly condemn this act by the state police.

We have all the rights to demand our rights and we won’t stop until it is achieved. Govt. will have to address the issue of roman script for Kokborok.

When 100% students opted for the use of Roman script for Kokborok subject in higher studies, then what is the need for #cbse to imposing Bengali script for Kokborok language paper? This is nothing but hindering the growth and development of the language.

This is unacceptable & deeply hurting the sentiment of the indigenous people of Tripura. Kokborok is our language, it should be our choice of script, most importantly the script should be of/for our convenience. @PMOIndia @narendramodi @girirajsinghbjp @DrManikSaha2 @GovtOfIndia

Language and script is inherent to our cause ! Let's not forget the imposition of Urdu/ Arabic language led to the partition of Pakistan and eventually created Bangladesh #BhashaAndolôn. Don't impose what you think is right on our indigenous people or there will be consequences! #CBSEExamination
