Content relating to my personal hobbies/interests (WW1, writing, books, movies, family history), is now mostly on my BlueSky account.

I'm in two minds about what to do with my X account. Keeping it for now, but will have to see.
Our fearless leaders Take That tell me they have released a few more production seats for the shows in Manchester and London, so if you thought you might miss out on seeing both them and ME, fear not!
These last few tickets are available here: https://t.co/xShGFiJ8I0
@DrMatthewSweet ..in floods of tears the next (Rosanna Spearman's narrative). Plus the plot is also a fantastic page-turning mystery. I believe T.S. Eliot and J. K. Rowling were both fans. 2/2
@DrMatthewSweet Love him! I always said - forget Mr. Darcy. If Robert Kirke from 'No Name' wasn't a fictional character, I'd marry him tomorrow!
My favourite book by him is 'The Moonstone'. I've never come across another author who can have roaring with laughter one minute (Miss Clack) and..1/2
After seeing (yet again) some truly horrible attitudes on X toward those with Down Syndrome, it's time to repost this.
The world could learn a lot from President de Gaulle. I also speak as someone who works with children with DS. They are the most wonderful kids. I adore them.
@JBlog911@realninawysocka@MandyTB7 No. The EU did not exist in the 1970s when Heath was PM. We became members of the EEC - and, incidentally, when the UK was given a referendum on membership in 1975, the majority voted to remain.
If you have definite confirmation of Heath being a murderer, then produce it.
@JBlog911@realninawysocka@MandyTB7 That was a complete fabrication, exposed by multiple police investigations.
Secondly, the EU did not exist when Heath was PM.
As for MPs on the EU's payroll, look up a certain Mr. Farage, who was on the EU fisheries commission, but only turned up to 1 out of 42 meetings.
@lecrin I remember going for one interview, and for some reason, the interviewer kept calling me 'Susan'. Even though it was pointed out to her several times that it wasn't my name.
I've never particularly cared for Royals in general. But honestly, this obsessive hatred for Meghan is so extreme that people are even filled with fury when she makes scones.
It's right up there with the worst war crimes.
@Colchesterviews@dinowr Has anyone ever seen her? My impression is that she just pops up occasionally in the local paper to defend unpopular gov't policies. Usually by arguing that they do the opposite of what they say they do.
@afneil By way of comparison, I was in France two years ago - and was served by a very nice waitress at a restaurant in Arras. I wanted to give her a tip - and she actually said to me that in France, it was not usual to tip.
@M_Steeples@Apple I have a friend who is an engineer (and a very good one). He says he once tried to repair an Apple product, only to discover that this was impossible because the damaged component was only made by Apple, not sold separately, and could not be replaced by anything compatible.
