🧵/5 My honor's thesis is done, the podcast, Navigating the Inevitable, explores stories of death/dying that serve you. After being an emotional support volunteer for hospice patients dying alone, I gained a unique comfort with death that I hope to share https://t.co/6FasCXE2Q5
I got a paid subscription to @hunteryharris hung up newsletter and this line alone made it worth it. “Oppenheimer deals with its headiness with a funny amount of unseriousness. This is a movie about so many scientists falling out Andy Cohen should be refereeing their reunion.”
Three years ago, I got some footage that I couldn’t get out of my mind.
It showed the first police killing captured on body-worn cameras in NY.
The NYPD didn’t want anyone to see it.
It eventually launched me on the biggest story I’ve ever done, w/ @NYTmag

When I started working at WNYC in the Fall of 2010, I’d just been laid off from ABC News. So it’s kind of full circle that my time at WNYC is ending in a layoff too. It’s taken me so long to write this thread because I’m just so sad.
in 8th grade, when I told my dad I wanted to be a writer, he encouraged me to join my school’s student newspaper.
today, I got to show him around the @washingtonpost office! ✨ thanks dad for always supporting my dreams!
