@CWIMorg Thank you CWIM! I’m humbled by the recognition and so happy to be working to advance primary care and to do so with so many other inspiring female physician leaders!
As of Dec 1 I’m taking a role with Ontario Public Service to chair a small but mighty team tasked with primary care reform, to make sure everyone in Ontario is attached to a family doctor or NP providing ongoing comprehensive care in a publicly funded team https://t.co/gdVpNYhZ3O

Fun fact: nearly every person in Denmark 🇩🇰 has the name of their GP (or group of GPs) on their healthcard
It's an organized system where 98+% have access to primary care.
How do they do it? One key lies in how GPs are organized. 🧵

Total health spending in Denmark 🇩🇰 is similar to Canada 🇨🇦, yet almost everyone in Denmark has access to primary care
I'm here on a 9-day tour to learn how they make it work
Today I met with Morten Petersen, CEO of https://t.co/TlGgqy5emW, the Danish e-health platform 🧵
Today, on #WorldFamilyDoctorDay, the OCFP recognizes more than 15K family doctors for the critical role they play in keeping our communities healthy. Thank you for the essential care you provide to patients at all stages.
Measles is highly contagious.
9 in 10 people who are around a person with measles will become infected if they are not protected by the vaccine.
The best protection against measles is getting vaccinated.
For World Family Doctor Day on May 19, we are sharing new data showing family doctors are the foundation of Ontario’s healthcare system, responsible for 139,300 patient visits each day: https://t.co/PM9g2UD6H5

Happy #DoctorsDay to all the dedicated physicians. Family doctors deliver 52% of medical services but account for just 5.7% of national health spending. Your tireless efforts and expertise are essential to keeping Canadians healthy. https://t.co/UZ2QxXlZtL #NationalPhysiciansDay

Family doctors are the foundation of Ontario’s health care system, and Ontario needs family doctors spending time with patients, not on paperwork. The OCFP will continue to advocate and bring forward solutions to help reduce the administrative burden.
"40 years after the Canada health act found its place in our history we are more than ready for the next act. That act should move us from an inefficient assortment of centres of excellence to a coordinated approach with guaranteed access to primary care."
Thanks @janephilpott!
In Ontario, we are seeing measles cases, in part due to routine childhood vaccinations missed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Make sure children are up to date with their vaccines 👉https://t.co/XKoBMF7zLr
The priority is to ensure children are caught up or getting their regularly scheduled vaccines. Thanks to family doctors @allan_k_grillMD
And @AlykhanAbdulla for sharing important updates on measles https://t.co/EPspUUk1kU
