But those who truly understand it never stop at the literal meaning. It is the most accurate reflection of the soul of the blockchain community along its long journey.
The wildebeest never settles in one place.
When the land dries up and everything withers, they never cling to barren ground. For a single mouthful of water, a patch of grass, a glimmer of life, they set out on an endless migration.
This river has never been gentle.
Every crossing claims companions—swallowed by waves and danger. The herd suffers losses, the road ahead is unknown, yet those who remain never look back.
There is no king to lead them, no chief to command. They rely on neither power nor control—only the shared instinct of countless individuals and a collective belief, surging toward hope.
This is the life of Ethereum.
In 2013, a nineteen-year-old wrote the whitepaper, planting a faint light in the barren land of blockchain—the first step of the journey.
In 2016, the DAO crisis was the first perilous river crossing: bone-deep pain, survival through blood.
In 2022, the shift from PoW to PoS was another crossing of fate’s river—shedding the old shell, completing a rebirth and iteration.
Ethereum was never made divine by one person alone.

这轮主网几乎没跑出像样的meme，看了一圈，只有V神这个角度是拉满的

知道为什么V神喜欢角马吗？
他自己发过推：喜欢有种野兽叫 wildebeest

但 meme 好玩的地方，是社区从里面读出了另一层：
角马从不待在一个地方。旱了就跟着雨水走，过河被鳄鱼咬掉一批，活下来的继续找草。没有头领，靠的是群体本能

以太坊也一路这么走过来：
2013 年 19 岁的V神写下白皮书
2016 年 DAO 事件，过河被咬一口
2022 年 PoW 换成 PoS，再过一次河

社区就是那百万头角马，一直在迁徙
