#DoAmCorrect by quickly visiting a health facility for a test when you or a family member have a fever. Remember, not all fever is due to malaria, and fever is not ordinary.

Perhaps the NCDC can advise the government to reasonably revise the COVID-19 test entry requirements. The post-arrival test is the one that the government has to enforce more. A lot of people probably just pay the money and ignore the test itself. Fingers crossed 🤞 🤞 🤞
@NCDCgov SOS!!!!.....The 48-hr validity requirement of negative COVID-19 PCR test to enter Nigeria has become a torn in the flesh for most travelers from the US. For people whose flights depart the US anytime after 7 pm, it has become nearly impossible to get on board and fly.
collected around 7 pm, 2 days before departure for a decent shot at getting on board...bad news if it should fall in the last 3rd of 72 hrs. People are getting stranded and something needs to be done quickly as important assignments and appointments are missed for this reason.
Children under 5 years of age are among the most vulnerable groups affected by #Malaria. It is important to pay attention to warning signs, visit a health facility for a test & begin treatment within 24 hours if the test returns positive. #MyMalariaStory#ZeroMalariaStartsWithMe
Risks of #Malaria to the mother, her fetus, & the newborn are:
• Maternal and fetal anaemia
• Placental parasitaemia
• Low birth weight
• Neonatal mortality
Sleeping inside mosquito nets every night combined with IPTp-SP as part of antenatal care can help avert these risks.
It is pertinent to first take a #Malaria test & get a confirmed diagnosis before initiating treatment. This will avert presumptive treatment based on external symptoms such as a fever which is also a known sign of several other diseases. #MyMalariaStory#ZeroMalariaStartsWithMe
@BANigeria You can also:
i.Wear long sleeved clothes & apply insect repellant creams.
ii.Spray all rooms with NAFDAC approved insecticides.
iii.Remove mosquito breeding sites.
iv.Use of SP for IPTp for pregnant women.
