One of Elkhart's own was honored yesterday in Indianapolis. Firefighter/Paramedic Travis Mahoney's name was added to the fallen firefighters memorial.

Thursday February 11th at noon, Elkhart City Fire Department held a "Push-in" ceremony to honor our new Tower 18 being officially placed in service. Thank you Councilman Thomas and Pastor Brooks for braving the cold to share this day with us.

Sad news to report tonight. We’ve learned that Beacon Health System is in the process of getting a refrigerated truck to hold the dead. Dr. Michelle Bache says she expects deaths to increase and they are getting this truck because the morgues can’t handle all the bodies. #COVID19

Join us in welcoming the newest additions to Elkhart Fire Department. Seven rookies were sworn in this afternoon, and will begin the eleven week process of rookie school to join their brothers and sisters on shift in October.
