*Gaslighting is not to be confused with disagreeing. When gaslighting, the other person tries to make you feel “crazy” for how you perceive things, how you think and how you feel. It’s not about understanding nor resolving anything, it’s about invalidating you.
Yes, people know when they’re gaslighting you. Yet it doesn’t mean that they have the self-awareness to see why they do it and the emotional intelligence to stop when they do it. They might not seek ways to heal and quit that either.
