Amen. John 7:37 is a jewel of a promise.

Earlier, Jesus said:
“Whoever drinks the water I give will never thirst…
it will become a spring of water
welling up to eternal life.”
John 4:13–14

Welling up—
as if grace itself were pushing upward,
like a fountain refusing to stay underground,
breaking through stone,
singing its way into daylight.

Such is the life Christ plants within us:
unstoppable, inexhaustible, unmistakable—
a fountain that bears witness even when we feel dry.

And though I’ve never doubted His promise,
I still long to taste its fullness.
I still wait for that rising to become real in me—
for the spring to find its voice,
to feel that inner spring rise and spill over
the way He said it would.
