i know the whitewashing of heathcliff has already been discussed but its kind of crazy how they kept casting the whitest dudes they could find for him too. they couldn't even spring for a slightly tan italian.
“the horror was for love” is actually the best quote to describe gothic romance. people dive into it expecting something a bit dark but in most cases it’s horrifying and gut-wrenching. if you accept the horror for what it is though the romance can feel deeply comforting
