I'm looking to talk to Boston residents about their top issues this election cycle. Whether it's housing, climate change, education or anything in between, me and @saraherobs want to hear your input.
Email me at [email protected], or DM me!
A HUGE shout out to Waypoint Adventure. They were able to give us access to an all terrain wheel chair (with very little notice) for field day. This chair made a big difference for a student and gave them a field day to remember ❤️@waypointorg@BlanchardMem
It’s that time of year again! Mat Man has arrived to help us learn body awareness, spatial concepts, and upper case letters! #matmanlovesOT@BlanchardMem@hwtears
Building and decorating holiday trees in OT. Working on balance, postural control, shoulder stability, crossing midline, fine motor control, and motor planning in one really motivating yet simple activity! @BlanchardMem
Yoga to get our bodies and brains ready, bubbles and sensory fun, counting, and learning how to use the smiley face to make our numbers go the “right way” #OTisfun@BlanchardMem@hwtears
Handwriting without tears outside on a sunny day! Rainbow numbers using trees, grass, sidewalk for a textured surface....working on our hands and knees or in standing to vary postures. Using our senses and movement to foster memory for formation patterns. @BlanchardMem
Exploring nature with all of our senses! Close your eyes, open your hand, and identify an object through touch alone! Assume the mountain pose, tilt your head back, and look up and around at the vast forest moving only your eyes! @BlanchardMem#sensoryintegration#OTisfun
OT in nature....natural obstacle courses and sensory experiences to challenge balance, coordination, motor planning, and sensory processing. @BlanchardMem
A great way to explore nature and work on your visual spatial skills! Get outside, enjoy the sunshine, and collect some items for your project! @BlanchardMem
Develop sensory motor skills while making a beautiful space in your yard! Encourage heavy work: dig, carry, and sort rocks. Work on fine motor skills: Encourage a 3 finger grasp on a paintbrush while painting rocks and create a “flower garden”! Have fun! @BlanchardMem
Friday night forts! Build a cozy retreat! Fill it with your softest pillows, blankets, and most cuddly stuffed animals. It can be a special place to go to, to help you feel quiet and calm. Or, it might be a place to simply relax, read a book, or watch a movie. @BlanchardMem
Let’s take this opportunity to teach our kids some life skills while giving them the sensory input they need and crave: kneading dough, carrying full laundry baskets, vacuuming, raking, washing windows and cars....this one looks fun....learn a phone number! @BlanchardMem
