He was charged as manslaughter because that wasn’t his goal to kill him. They normally don’t do both, but in this case, he wanted him dead but didn’t actually mean to kill him.

@itsmemcmanus @LadyOversteegen I was told it was a discount issue. Restaurants in our area gets tax breaks from the amount of waste, reimbursement from the suppliers for what’s thrown away and discounts for our local dump when the load is over a certain weight.
