Our D3 girls GASSCA Player of the Week is Ellet’s Bree Carpenter.

Bree scored 8 goals in 3 wins for the Lady Orange. She tallied 2 goals in a 3-0 win at Lorain, the lone goal in a 1-0 win against Barberton, and 5 goals in the first half of a 6-1 win at North.

Congrats to our 2022 team as we were recognized by the Ohio House of Representatives! We love the comment about “the highest ideals of sportsmanship”. We were the second highest scoring team ever in Ohio and accomplished this feat while keeping wins at only a 7 goal differential.

One of the most successful forward duos to ever play together in Ohio. Through injuries and a shortened season in 2020 due to Covid, Sydney Tucker and Rachel Wenzel still found a way to establish legacies on the pitch. The duo combined for 262 CAREER GOALS and 166 CAREER ASSISTS.

Our 2022 team becomes the second highest all-time scoring team in the state of Ohio. We’re proud of this because of how difficult it was to accomplish and it happened with the team rule, “We won’t win a game by more than a 7 goal differential.”

We overcame a lot of obstacles this season. We were hit be a lot of injuries. Most of the team was new to high school soccer, but we saw significant growth throughout the year.

Ohio has a new ALL-TIME LEADER IN CAREER ASSISTS!!! Rachel Wenzel now has 95 CAREER ASSISTS! She has 38 goals and 38 assists this season (124 career goals and 95 career assists). It’s been a complete joy watching her play the last 4 seasons. WOW!!!!
