Yesterday was Ageism Awareness Day and I decided to start sharing some direct quotes from my book, Ageism at Work: Deconstructing Age and Gender in the Discriminating Labour Market, so you could hear firsthand from some of the older workers and employers that I interviewed.
“Women will try and make themselves younger, which I think is a huge mistake… I mean it’s like they’re dressing in their daughters’ clothes thinking that’s going to get them the job… it’s the sheer amount of make-up they will wear… It’s kind of the cougar scenario.”
