This was very interesting! Thanks @GlobalDrugSurvy & @DrugScienceSoc - planning to do my #EMDAS thesis on young adults substance use in lockdown so lots that grabbed my attention here!
We’ve got a great event this Thursday lunch time between 12.45-1.45. We’re fantastically lucky to have Professor Adam Winstock from @GlobalDrugSurvy talking about their most recent report on the impact of lockdown on drug use! Register for free here 👉 https://t.co/tXKjJ8bz6r

So today I should have been in Turin starting year 2 of #EMDAS. Instead we all connected online from home. Great start this morning hearing about all the experiences of COVID-19 for the students across Europe and beyond.
Interesting hearing from @EllieNDooley about impact of C19 on work. Increased IV use among street homeless & increased engagement with county lines networks by young people during lockdown #EMDAS @DARC_Mdx
This is a disaster for the young and vulnerable in London and across the country.
The government cannot stand by as more youth centres close.
An increase in violent crime, mental health issues and future unemployment will be the result.

Momentous news from Parliament: the House of Commons Health & Social Care Committee supports "the introduction of on-site drug checking services at festivals & in night time economies" (HC143, 2019: 25). Other recommendations include decriminalisation, HAT, DCRs & naloxone.
Young people are becoming criminalised and dying on our streets because of an illicit drugs market. It's time to get on with legalising and regulating cannabis.
