The bird is the Cuban Trogon "Tocororo", also the national bird of Cuba.

It's our national bird because its feathers reflect the colors of our flag, and because it can only live in freedom—NEVER IN CAPTIVITY.

Without a doubt, it's one of the most beautiful birds in the world, and it's found exclusively in Cuba; it doesn't naturally breed anywhere else on the planet.

L’ambasciata israeliana in Italia non ha apprezzato questa copertina de L’Espresso. Scrivono: “Condanniamo fermamente l’uso manipolatorio della recente copertina de L’Espresso. L'immagine distorce la complessa realtà con cui Israele deve convivere, promuovendo stereotipi e odio. Un giornalismo responsabile deve essere equilibrato e corretto.”

Ma questa foto è vera. L’autore si chiama Piero Masturzo e lo scatto è parte di un reportage dalla Cisgiordania, scritto da Alae al Said, che documenta tutte le angherie che i palestinesi subiscono da parte dei coloni.

Il viso mostruoso di questo giovane non è deformato dal fotografo, ma dalla sua stessa cattiveria e inumanità. Il fotografo ha soltanto avuto la grande capacità di catturarlo in una espressione che parla più delle parole. Questo fa il fotogiornalismo.

I am a board-certified neurosurgeon, one of only a handful in this country with additional endovascular training (still undergoing), currently with 19 high-impact publications and a doctoral thesis (summa cum laude) focused on the development of an entirely new field in the microsurgical training of young neurosurgeons, patented with the goal of free worldwide accessibility and reproducibility, and in the process of publishing my first book on this topic.

I also happen to love whisky and currywurst.
And everything about Western literature and art, just as I love and appreciate all these things in every other culture and civilization.

Sadly, I am not going to support genocidal scum and child rapists commit endless crimes against humanity, if that’s your idea of assimilation. And I am not going to just watch them burn down the world in real time and shut up about it in order to protect myself and my career.
I swore an oath. And I take it very seriously.
