The proposed amendments encompass critical areas that directly impact the lives of South Africans. Key highlights include:
1. Preamble: Amending the Preamble to assert that South Africa belongs to its citizens, reinforcing a collective commitment to equity.
2. Name Change: Proposing the renaming of the Republic of South Africa to the Republic of Azania, reflecting our identity and heritage.
3. Supremacy of the Constitution: Ensuring Parliament retains the final authority on constitutional interpretation, solidifying democratic governance.
4. Rights of Citizens: Introducing amendments that address fundamental rights, including the right to life, employment, and access to education, while tackling issues such as dual citizenship and foreign land ownership.
5. Economic and Social Rights: Adding provisions to the Bill of Rights that guarantee employment, adequate food, fair competition, and protection from exploitative debt practices.
6. Empowerment of Traditional Leadership: Strengthening the role of traditional leaders in local governance to enhance community participation and decision-making.
7. National Security: Prohibiting foreign control of critical infrastructure and military presence to safeguard our sovereignty.
