Today I introduced legislation to require that the minimum wage be a living wage. $25 an hour is what’s required for a full time worker to pay their bills, and we shouldn’t accept that full time work leaves people living in poverty.

This! This is what people miss about true wealth building. In WB everything is “the families” nothing is “inherited” - everything is everyone’s for generations. Money isn’t paid to parents then children but to the family trust/entity

Landlords who inherited property from their parents and have no mortgage are still charging
$2,000-$2,300/month rent.

And they collect more per month than most people earn.

Real Estate license is about $120 and you can clear $250,000-$1,000,000 after 3 years residency

Medical school might be one of the only degrees where you can take on an absurd amount of debt and still have a real path to paying it back.

Graduate with 250k-$400k in debt.

Make 60k-$75k/year during residency for 3-7 years.

Debt grows or barely moves during that time.

Then become an attending and jump to 250k-$500k+ depending on specialty.

The problem is in the post. The parents were not financially literate and didn’t teach them financial literacy. If you are in America, it’s EASY to have enough. It’s the freedom you’re having an issue with. The freedom to make good and bad choices.
