Took my kid to see it tonight. It was a little scary for him at first but by the end of the second act he was having a great time. I thought it was great myself. It definitely serves up the classic characters with a dash of Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor Ragnarok. The lead reminds me of a young John Schneider and has all the charm to boot.

Saw the Mandalorian movie yesterday and rather enjoyed it. But it made me think there’s a fan base that likes the decompressed storytelling of the streaming shows like Andor who are going to be disappointed. Then there’s fans like me that get bored with meandering TV shows and rather have a 2 hr movie.

@jm_meunier I read it twice and of course all the early follow up’s in comics and novels. I think I bailed after Shadows of the Empire. But it was good run.
@wellyousaythatt I’ve never seen it put that way. I could only afford one title at the time which was Psi Force. The comics were supposed to be more grounded than the Marvel universe so maybe they were a bit grittier.
@jondelarroz I read them in college and then later got the comic adaptation that @BloodyRedBaron did for Dark Horse. Those comics may be the closest we get to a movie adaptation.
