Lydia Lasprilla, who led the University of Houston women’s golf team to a first NCAA championship appearance this season, has resigned to take the same position at Alabama.
Crazy story…the day before in practice, same wing, same exact shot, Eman shot faked, one dribble, then passed the ball. Coach blew the whistle, & said “Son you’re gonna shoot that in the game so shoot it now...” Speechless.

Professor Simon Bott passed away this week leaving a hole in our hearts... He left UH to take a position in UK but his heart remained here with Cougars. He always wrote to me after games and after every academic milestone UH has achieved. Simon—you will be deeply missed.
“I don’t know how my life would have been if I didn’t go to UH. I’m definitely thankful for them. It’s always go Coogs for me!”

Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark to @PaperCityMag on Willie Fritz's impact on University of Houston football: "My God, what Willie Fritz has done for this program in such a short period of time — he's transformed it. And I think everyone knew what they were getting with Coach. But he's done it probably a little quicker than we thought. And I think it's going to continue.
"Now between football and basketball, you've got this thing really going. All I want is to see the fans here in Houston embrace football like they should. They've got a great product, a great future, and for the bowl game they came out. Which was terrific. But I'd like to see that more often."
Cheers to 2025…a year to remember!
Houston won more football and men’s basketball games than any other D1 school! There has never been a better time to be a Coog!
