Diplomatic Dominoes: How Somalia's Gaffe Handed Somaliland a Strategic Opening
#Somaliland has moved swiftly to exploit a major diplomatic misstep by the Federal Government of Somalia after the speaker of the Somali parliament unexpectedly referred to Northern Cyprus as an independent entity during discussions with Turkey. Although Mogadishu quickly issued retractions to patch the damage, the blunder ignited sharp reactions from Nicosia and Athens, prompting Somaliland to step in and offer Cyprus and Greece full support against Somalia and Turkey in exchange for formal diplomatic recognition.
For @RTErdogan, this should be enough to see how unreliable HSM’s team is. They offered him an olive branch & then turned 180 degrees in just 24 hours. Mind you, these guys bite the hand that helps them and kiss the one that beats them. Time to rethink dealings with hawks.
There are two parties in the Swedish Parliament that recognize the Republic of Somaliland, a success story in the Horn of Africa.
The Christian Democrats and the Sweden Democrats. We will pave the way for more recognition. Vote yellow and blue on September 13th.
🚨 NETANYAHU: GAZA RECONSTRUCTION WILL NOT BEGIN UNTIL HAMAS IS DISARMED.
The Prime Minister’s Office says Israel and the Board of Peace agreed to establish a working group focused on the prompt disarmament and demilitarization of Gaza, to be completed before reconstruction begins.
A second working group will address sanitation, clean water and other public-health issues affecting both Gaza and Israel.
The order is clear: disarmament first. Reconstruction second.
HAMAS ASKS BOARD OF PEACE TO “COMPEL” ISRAEL
Hamas says it asked the U.S.-backed Board of Peace and mediating countries to “compel the occupation” to fulfill its obligations under Phase 1 of the Gaza ceasefire, halt alleged violations and killings, and approve the roadmap for Phase 2.
It’s worth reiterating that Hamas is attempting to amend the original 20 point agreement to serve its agenda and avoid disarming entirely.
The request came after Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya met with Trump envoy Jared Kushner in Egypt.
🚨 BAIDOA IN BLOODSHED: CLAN WARLORDS BATTLE FOR CONTROL AS CITY DESCENDS INTO CHAOS
BAIDOA ALERT: The city has reportedly fallen under the control of another clan based power broker after forces pushed out a Mogadishu backed faction, highlighting the devastating consequences of South Somalia’s deepening political and military crisis.
Local reports claim the fighting has left around 800 people dead, 5,000 wounded and nearly 200,000 displaced, those figures have been independently verified.
Critics blame #Mogadishu’s political leadership and #Turkey’s expanding military influence for fueling the chaos, accusing Ankara of backing armed factions while pursuing its own strategic interests in Somalia.
There are also reports that Turkish supplied F 16s could be used in the conflict, potentially putting civilians at even greater risk.
The unfolding crisis is prompting renewed calls for the United States and United Kingdom to recognize the Republic of #Somaliland, with supporters arguing that Somaliland’s relative stability stands in stark contrast to the violence engulfing other parts of #Somalia.
The question now is how much more bloodshed the region and the international community will tolerate?
When Darood politicians complain about the Hawiye president in view of "Somalinimo", it’s nationalism-but when Hawiye does similar actions, it’s tribalism-make it sense.🤣
#BREAKING: Heavy fighting has erupted in Baidoa, with South West State forces aligned with former regional President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed “Laftagareen” advancing into the heart of the city.
The forces have reportedly seized several strategic areas, including Siliga, Mursal, Warshadda Hassay, Boonkaay and Bangi Qiyaamay, with reports indicating they have now established positions in central Baidoa.
The situation remains highly volatile.
The Republic of Somaliland is not Somalia.
History is full of failed unions that ended:
• Iraq–Jordan (1958) — Arab Federation
• Egypt–Syria (1958–61) — United Arab Republic
• Senegal–Mali (1959–60) — Mali Federation
• Singapore–Malaysia (1963–65) — Federation of Malaysia
• Senegal–Gambia (1982–89) — Senegambia Confederation
Why is Somaliland treated differently?
The agreed 1960 Act of Union was never signed by both sides.
The Ministry of Family and Human Rights Development expressed profound grief over the tragic death of Nimco Jama Yusuf at Hargeisa General Hospital, urging collective action to protect vulnerable mothers and ensure equitable care. #Somalia#Hargeisa#HumanRights#SONNA @mfhrd
Somaliland is Jerusalem’s answer to the Mecca defense pact.
Israel must work to persuade more countries to join in recognizing the republic in the Horn of Africa.

STRATEGIC SHIFT: Could Somaliland be the key to U.S. strategy in the Horn of Africa?
As Iran-backed Houthi attacks disrupt Red Sea shipping and traditional allies like Djibouti align closer with China, experts argue Washington needs a strategic pivot.
Speaking to Fox News Digital, Bashir Goth, Somaliland Representative to the U.S., highlighted Somaliland's potential role as a key regional partner:
"Somaliland is that partner and our defense officials have been in active dialogue with AFRICOM on Red Sea security. Somaliland has the geography, the stability and the will to work closely with Washington — and will continue to do so."

Today, I had the honor of hosting the Ambassador of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Masoud Abdi Ali.
We discussed the vast potential of our new bilateral relations, focusing on shared efforts to deepen economic cooperation following Israel’s historic step as the first nation to recognize Somaliland as a sovereign and independent state.
Ambassador Ali expressed his profound appreciation for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s courageous decision, and extended a warm invitation for me to visit Somaliland.
I hope that more countries will follow Israel’s lead and join in recognizing Somaliland as a sovereign and independent state.
Looking forward to building a strong partnership and advancing regional stability.
